Updates, power & CLI

Maintain EveryOS and the host through their separate update workflows.

Update EveryOS

Settings → About and Updates → EveryOS share signed version status and progress. Releases are checked every five minutes and never installed automatically. Installation requires explicit administrator confirmation, linked sudo authorization and a safety backup. The update action does not ask for an additional EveryOS password.

Update packages and manage power

APT package updates are for compatible Debian-family hosts, preserve local configuration, refuse removals and exclude EveryOS itself. Check the restart-required notice. Restart and shutdown are available on desktop and mobile with password confirmation and blockers for work that would be interrupted; an EveryOS update cannot be interrupted this way.

Use the authenticated CLI

Use everyos version and everyos status for basic information, sudo everyos doctor for diagnostics, and everyos backup, everyos restore BACKUP_ID --confirm or everyos update for authenticated workflows. The CLI uses normal API permissions, CSRF protection and audit. Keep passwords out of command arguments and follow the source guide for secure automation.
