OPERATIONS

Troubleshooting

Find the cause, inspect the service and recover safely.

Start with health checks

Run the diagnostic commands on the Linux host. If the browser cannot connect, use an address printed by the installer, confirm the binding and port 7470, and check existing firewall or tailnet policies. Docker and Tailscale must be installed separately for their optional features.

Bash
sudo everyos doctor
everyos status

Inspect service logs

Check the API and agent services and read the recent API journal. Share only redacted diagnostic information when filing an issue. Never include setup tokens, passwords, session cookies, keys or a database archive. Consult the source packaging guide for update-worker recovery.

Bash
sudo systemctl status everyos-api.service everyos-agent.service
sudo journalctl -u everyos-api.service -n 100 --no-pager

Update an existing installation

Use Settings → About, Updates → EveryOS or the authenticated CLI. The updater verifies signed metadata and creates a safety backup. The initial installer refuses an existing database. If recovery fails, keep the recovery snapshot and maintenance marker and inspect the update service journal before taking further action.

Bash
everyos update
everyos update --apply --confirm

Based on EveryOS v0.1.38
